G-gas’s low-temperature cryogenic project has stepped into the pre-commissioning phase. As the supporting valve supplier for this project, CenturyVal sent our mechanical engineer to provide seven days of on-site technical support, conducting overall valve inspection, fault correction and calibration work together with the G-gas team, to lay a solid foundation for follow-up DCS joint debugging.
Comprehensive Valve Inspection & Targeted Rectification
Due to long-distance transportation and on-site disassembly of actuators, we carried out a full inspection of all valves on cold boxes, heat exchangers and air source platforms side by side with G-gas colleagues. We found several minor issues including inaccurate stroke and positioner offset, damaged pressure gauges, missing fittings, broken inner sleeves, as well as improperly mounted cylinders with potential water ingress risks.
Our engineer completed rectifications on site: recalibrating valve stroke and positioners, replacing damaged components, supplementing missing fasteners and adjusting cylinder installation angles. Most valves passed functional tests with stable solenoid performance and precise positioning. One valve with mismarked labels has been recorded, and we will arrange supplementary parts delivery at the earliest opportunity.
Hand-in-hand Technical Communication & Practical Suggestions
During our on-site service, instrument air and DCS systems were not yet ready. Pipeline pressure tests required frequent switching of positioners to manual mode. Our engineer shared standard operation procedures with G-gas construction staff humbly, and reminded everyone to restore all positioners to automatic mode before system joint debugging.
We also put forward a practical operation suggestion: after instrument air is fully connected, retighten all valve support nuts to avoid stroke drift caused by loose fasteners from transit and disassembly.
Sincere Cooperation Delivers Reliable Service
Throughout the whole service cycle, our team maintained smooth and friendly communication with G-gas’s on-site management and instrument colleagues. We sorted out the list of defective spare parts together and coordinated our headquarters to speed up parts delivery.
This cryogenic project sets high standards for valve precision and sealing performance. We are truly grateful for the trust and all-round coordination from G-gas. CenturyVal will keep providing high-quality valve products and full-lifecycle on-site technical support, working hand in hand to guarantee stable operation of the production line. We look forward to the arrival of supplementary spare parts and smooth DCS commissioning, and wish the project a successful launch soon!
